| Their original third excellent single in a row was a preview (taken from this album) showing two tracks and features more of their clever, black humour lyrics and nifty tunes Fireside Favourites pointedly combines the home fire, the atom bomb and an insanely jolly cakewalk, while Insecticide views life from an insect s point of view with some clever effects Favourites is classic early British electronic music - spikey, jokey, obsessed with claustrophobia, sex and modern life and played as if synthesisers had just been invented Unlike the other electro-buffs, however, Fad came out of nowhere, did not have a thing for Bowie or robots and thus Fireside Favourites has dated well | ||
